The UK is no longer in the EU. What is the process of getting your products?

Ostrel Group manages the UK export process and coordinates delivery of goods from the UK to Croatia through established European freight and customs partners.

Delivery route

For Croatian customers, goods can be exported from the UK and cleared into free circulation in France before onward delivery to Croatia.

This means the goods enter the EU customs territory in France and then continue to Croatia as EU-cleared goods.

Customer authorisation

Where this route is used, the Croatian customer acts as the importer and appoints a French customs/VAT agent to complete the French import clearance on their behalf.

Ostrel Group coordinates this process with our freight and customs partners and guides the customer through the required steps.

The customer will need to provide the required EORI/VAT details and complete the French agent authorisation before shipment.

EORI and VAT details

An EORI number is a customs identification number used by EU customs authorities for businesses involved in importing goods into the EU.

Most established importers already have one. If not, it can be obtained through the relevant customs authority.

Export documentation

Ostrel Group provides the required export documentation, including the commercial invoice, packing list, product details, country of origin information and any other data required for customs processing.

We also coordinate with the freight forwarder and customs/VAT agent to support the movement from the UK into the EU and onward to Croatia.

Country of origin

Country of origin depends on the specific products ordered.

Proteus products and components are manufactured in the UK and other parts of the world, depending on the item. We confirm the relevant country of origin information at quotation stage where available and include the required origin details on the export documentation.

Custom-configured assemblies and bespoke solutions manufactured and assembled in the UK will generally be treated as UK-origin goods where the applicable rules of origin are met and the correct supporting documentation is available.

This is assessed according to the product, its components and the level of UK manufacturing or assembly involved.

Customs duty

Customs duty depends on the product classification, country of origin and applicable trade rules.

Where goods qualify for preferential origin treatment under the UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement, reduced or zero customs duty may apply, provided the correct origin documentation is in place.

Where goods do not qualify, normal EU customs duty may apply.

Import VAT

Import VAT is handled through the agreed French import clearance process using the customer-appointed agent.

The exact VAT treatment depends on the customer’s VAT status, the clearance procedure used and the agent’s requirements.

From the customer’s side

From the customer’s side, the process is kept as straightforward as possible.

We guide you through the required EORI/VAT information and French agent authorisation, then coordinate the export, customs clearance route, freight movement and final delivery with our logistics and customs partners.
